Entrepreneurship 101 – Science and business do mix: success story

Entrepreneurship 101

This week’s Entrepreneurship 101 featured Dr. Michael May, founder of Rimon Therapeutics, and his success story.

Michael founded Rimon based, in part, on his thesis work for his PhD at the U of T in Chemical Engineering. Michael talked about the path that he’s followed since founding Rimon and shared some of the highs and lows – and the lessons learned – in following an entrepreneurial path, creating, financing and building a successful company.

It was a great opportunity to hear and meet someone who’s made the transition from the lab to entrepreneur.

In the discussion session following Michael May’s talk, he commented that he’d forgotten to remind people that, above all else, have fun doing what you are doing!

What do you think should motivate a technology entrepreneur – the fun of the science or the delights of the business?
