The first edition of the Venture Capital Monitor, a quarterly update on the Canadian venture capital industry published by the Small Business Policy Branch of Industry Canada, is now available online.
The Canadian venture capital (VC) industry is a key contributor to the growth of innovative firms that commercialize research and the health of this industry is an ongoing concern. The new quarterly Venture Capital Monitor provides analyses of key venture capital investment trends in Canada.
This first issue covers the third quarter of 2006 and includes the most recent available data. In addition to regular presentation of VC market statistics and analyses, this first issue examines VC syndication and its impact on firms and presents recent developments in the Ottawa area. Future issues will focus on developments in other Canadian cities.
