Market Woman, uploaded by flickerl
Just in time for International Womenâs Day (today!), the Canadian Advance Technology Association (CATA)âs Women in Technology Forum have released a study that looks at capital and women entrepreneurs. Authored by two University of Ottawa School of Management professors, the study â…examine[s] gender differences among Canadian small and medium enterprise (SME) owners seeking external financing, including commercial debt, leasing, supplier financing, and equity capital after controlling for size and industry sector.â?
A key finding of the study was that â…women business owners were equally likely as men to seek all types of financing, except equity capitalâ? – a finding with important implications for women entrepreneurs.
