Pfizer Canada recently announced their latest round of winners from its cardiovascular research awards program where seven recipients were awarded a total of $610,000.

University of Toronto researchers, Dr. Bernard Le Foll and Dr. Rudiger von Harsdorf, received two of the awards.  Dr. Bernard Le Foll is a Clinician Scientist and Head of the Translational Addiction Research Laboratory at CAMH.  Dr. Rudiger von Harsdorf is a Robert McEwen Chair in Cardiac Regenerative Medicine and a Senior Scientist at UHN (and can often be found on the third floor of our own Toronto Medical Discovery Tower).

Pfizer’s program, first launched in 2005, supports independent cardiovascular research by physicians, scientists and pharmacists.  The awards of up to $100,000 fund research operations in the areas of basic, biomedical and clinical sciences, patient care enhancement, epidemiology and outcome research.

Congratulations to our local scientists!
