Entrepreneurs in Action: The September issue
September 30, 2010

The latest from MaRS clients
Want to know what’s going on with some of the most interesting start-ups in the province?
At MaRS, we work with hundreds of early-stage companies to help them grow their businesses. Sometimes, some of those companies do great things: they win awards, secure financing, enter into partnerships or get great media coverage. Entrepreneurs in Action is a regular round-up of our clients’ successes.
Here’s what some of our clients have been up to:
- Distility CEO Axle Davis was featured on Businesscast, the podcast for entrepreneurs.
- Pay-as-you-drive meter maker Skymeter was profiled in The Toronto Star on Saturday, September 4.
- Shape College surpassed 2.5 million users–that’s more users than the population of Toronto!
- The University of Toronto Student Union used 5Touch Solution’s EventMobi app to help students navigate frosh week from their mobile devices.
- Hyper-local news service OpenFile launched a new website on September 14.
- NIMTech won the Midwest Semi-Finals of the Global Security Challenge in Michigan–its non-invasive measurement technology is described as: “The front end is ultrasound on steroids, the back end is Google on steroids.”
