Last chance to showcase your company at CIX 2010

Time is growing short for companies to submit profiles for CIX. Is your application in order?

Successful applicants, vetted by a panel of industry experts, have until Friday, Oct. 1 to apply to showcase their business as part of Canada’s Hottest Innovative Companies showcase at CIX 2010.

The showcase is designed to introduce the country’s most innovative companies to a panel of key players in the innovation economy, including VCs, large technology corporations and CEOs of a wide swath of Canadian companies.

For consideration, companies must be Canadian owned and operated and work in the fields of cleantech, ICT or digital media. Read more about eligibility here.

CIX, being held on Dec. 7 at MaRS, is a full day of networking, showcasing and meetings between companies and investors. It’s designed to “bring together the key leaders…of technology-based innovation in order to learn from each other, meet and pursue common ground, consider partners and investments.”

Friday Oct. 1 is also the deadline for the early-bird rate for attending CIX 2010.  Panel discussions and lectures will be held on the state of venture capital and investment in Canada and abroad, and on new innovations in growing markets such as the clean technology industry.

This year, speakers include David Unsworth (RBC Venture Partners), Raymond King (TSX), Andrew Heintzman (Investeco Capital), Jordan Banks (Facebook Canada), and Steven Woods (Google). For a full list of speakers check here.

But the main event at CIX every year is Canada’s Hottest Innovative Companies showcase–last year, 132 companies competed for 20 spots in the showcase. So whether you attend as a showcase participant or as an observer, CIX is a must-attend event for Canadian companies working in the technology sector.
