Surgery can be scary. But what if there were a better way? Minimally-invasive medical technologies aim to reduce recovery time and decrease damage to tissues. Our new whitepaper covers emerging Ontario technologies in this exciting area.

We looked at a range of minimally-invasive medical technologies, both surgical and therapeutic, on the forefront of innovation. We discuss clinical opportunities and adoption trends, as well as the challenges of bringing technologies to market.
Some interesting findings:

• An increasing body of evidence suggests that the use of minimally-invasive medical technologies results in superior clinical outcomes for the treatment of certain diseases, such as prostate cancer.
• Worldwide, cardiothoracic surgeries account for over 70% of the demand in the minimally-invasive medical technologies market.
• The area of greatest growth in minimally-invasive medical technologies is medical robotics, with an average expected growth rate of 41% to 2015.
