Entrepreneurs in Action: March madness
April 1, 2011
At MaRS, we work with hundreds of early-stage companies to help them grow their businesses. Sometimes, those companies do great things: they win awards, secure financing, enter into partnerships or get great media coverage. Entrepreneurs in Action is a regular round-up of our clients’ successes.
Here’s what some of our clients have been up to:
- Profound Medical’s Paul Chipperton appeared on BNN’s SqueezePlay to discuss Profound’s technology, funding and how it will bring its treatment to market.
- GreenMantra Recycling Technologies, Smart Energy Instruments and Temporal Power secured angel financing deals this month.
- BusinessInsider.com and The Globe and Mail interviewed Grant Ritchie, CEO of Locationary, about how Locationary is building high-quality profiles of businesses around the world.
- Blue W—a national not-for-profit that helps people find places to refill their reusable water bottles for free—made the media rounds this month: read more in the Toronto Star or listen on Metro Morning.
- The Toronto Star also profiled Weblish Pal, an online, on-demand video-based service that connects English learners with native English speakers.
- The Ethical Ocean team made it to the Dragon’s Den.
- ShinyAds secured funding for its award-winning self-serve advertising platform.
- tinyHippos was acquired by Research in Motion. tinyHippos is the maker of a mobile environment emulator called Ripple.
