Both governance and leadership of the MaRS Innovation start-up will take flight under your stewardship. Accomplished as a business builder in the private sector, you are comfortable in the multi-stakeholder world of academic research. You will work with a new and independent Board of Directors to create what will truly be a transformative organization for the City of Toronto and for Canada. As you build your staff complement, your organizational structure and your strategic business plan, you will focus the energy and resources of MaRS Innovation on success in a globally competitive marketplace. Identify and validate high potential discoveries, develop disciplined go-to-market strategies and build the partnerships that will lead to commercial results. Empower your MaRS Innovation ‘deal teams’ to work with researchers and technology transfer specialists in member institutions as well as with sources of risk capital and entrepreneurial business teams - through translational development and on into start-up and revenue realization. A leader, a negotiator, a facilitator and a producer, with keen instincts for technology and market trends, you have established your credibility as a successful business strategist and decision maker.
