David Neale was appointed Vice President, Service Development for Rogers Communications Inc. in July 2005. In this position, Mr. Neale is responsible for leading the development of all network-agnostic IP-based services that will be delivered across the range of Rogers’ Digital Networks.
Mr. Neale first joined Rogers Wireless in August of 1989 as Director of Marketing for Mobile Data. Over the course of his career in the wireless industry, Mr. Neale has held a number of increasingly senior commercial and technical management positions within the paging, data and technology departments of Rogers Wireless, where he was responsible for the long-term network and technology strategy and architecture, and for overseeing the development and implementation of all new wireless voice and data products.
Mr. Neale has also held roles of Director of Sales and Marketing, Paging (Oct. 1990-Dec. 1993), VP Marketing and Planning, Paging & Data (Sept. 1995-Jan. 1998), VP, Data & Emerging Technologies (March 1998-February 1999), VP New Technology (Feb. 1999-Nov. 1999), and VP New Product Development (and Deployment) (Nov. 1999-July 2005) at Rogers. Mr. Neale was VP of Sales and Marketing at Westel Telecommunications Ltd. in Vancouver, BC (Dec. 1993-Sept. 1995).
Active with several industry organizations, Mr. Neale presently serves on the Board of the GSM Association Executive Management Committee. Mr. Neale served on the Board of the Inter-Carrier Messaging Council of the Canadian Telecommunications Association, he was a past Chairman of the Paging Executive Council, CWTA 1993, and 1997-1999, and past Chairman of the International Mobitex Operators Association (MOA) 1997-2001.
