ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Mathieu is Manager of Business Development at Aegera Therapeutics, a clinical stage biotechnology company focused on developing drugs that control apoptosis for the treatment of cancer and neuropathic pain/neuropathies. In this capacity, he is responsible for all aspects of business development, licensing, and marketing. He also works closely with Aegera’s Executive team in activities related to in-licensing and merger & acquisition opportunities. Mathieu joined Aegera in 2005 as a Senior Analyst in the Business Development group. Prior to joining Aegera, Mathieu acquired entrepreneurial experience in a start-up medical device company, where he was involved in all aspects of the company, including seed financing, business development, licensing, research collaborations and marketing. Mathieu received a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from McGill University, where his doctoral work, in the laboratory of Dr. David R. Kaplan at the Montreal Neurological Institute, focused on mechanisms of protein kinase regulation in apoptosis.
