Constab Pharmaceutical Inc. is a Canadian biotech company developing novel drugs using alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) as a carrier for apoptosis inducers. AFP is used as a carrier being selective to cancer cells expressing AFP receptors (AFPR). Since a great majority of cancers express AFPR, Constab’s drug candidate or drugs developed using its technology platform could be used to treat many types of cancers. Preliminary studies in mice and human have confirmed Constab’s approach. Our goal is to maximize the treatment outcome in cancer patients and limit the potential side effects.
