SiG@MaRS brings together disparate groups with similar interests around events related to our focus areas such as: Social Finance meetings, the Social Entrepreneurship Summit, and Social Technology conferences. Getting great minds with great ideas in the same room at the same time leads to great results. Our aim is to create the opportunities and utilize the subsequent momentum built from these meetings, to inform its programme and influence stakeholders and other parties to mobilize.
SiG@MaRS also leverages its resources at the MaRS Discovery District, and offers a suite of educational courses similar to the Venture Group’s Entrepreneurship 101. Social Entrepreneurship 101 aims to deliver the necessary tools to arm social entrepreneurs throughout the commercialization process. Such topics include: How to write a pitch deck, organizational strategies, partnerships, and leadership development.
