Ambit Biosciences is a privately-held biopharmaceutical company engaged in the discovery and development of small-molecule kinase inhibitors for the treatment of cancer.

With more than 500 distinct kinases identified and over 30 kinase inhibitors in clinical trials or FDA approved, this important class of proteins is a rich area for therapeutic drug development. And Ambit Biosciences has the technology, the expertise and the vision to succeed in the kinase space.

Sustainable Pipeline Moving into the Clinic
Our lead compound AC220, a small molecule kinase inhibitor for the treatment of Acute Myeloid Leukemia, entered the clinic in 2006. We identified AC220 using KinomeScan and, just like many of the other small molecule kinase inhibitors in our pipeline, it was designed, synthesized, screened, characterized and optimized at Ambit. These internal drug discovery efforts are complemented by strategic external licensing activities, which together promise a full and sustainable pipeline.

KinomeScan: Unsurpassed Kinase Profiling Technology
KinomeScan, Ambit's proprietary kinase profiling platform, provides unprecedented insight by profiling small molecules against a rapidly growing panel of over 400 kinases, including all known clinically-relevant kinases as well as mutations and inactive forms. KinomeScan  turns the promiscuity of kinase inhibitors into a discovery advantage, from specificity and lead optimization to the identification of new indications for clinical compounds.

Successful Track Record
Since May 2000, we've raised more than $105 million from an experienced group of investors including Apposite Capital, MedImmune Ventures, OrbiMed Advisors, Aisling Capital, Forward Ventures, Avalon Ventures, Genechem, RIL Investments, GIMV, Roche, BMS, Radius Ventures, NovaQuest Ventures. We've also forged strategic partnerships with Roche, Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, GlaxoSmithKline, Cephalon and many others. Revenues earned from these collaborations supplement our venture capital financing and support the continued development of Ambit's proprietary drug pipeline.
