Lab Giant to Distribute Protein Assay Platform

Global research laboratory products company VWR International has struck an agreement with MaRS tenant Axela Inc. to distribute its products in North America.

Axela’s proprietary dotLab System™ is used for real time protein detection, characterization and monitoring directly in biological samples. The company’s products provide life science and clinical researchers simple tools and reagents to study interactions, expand the utility of traditional immunoassays and access novel categories of diagnostic markers.

Axela is commercializing products that accelerate the validation of protein biomarkers from discovery into routine clinical practice. Biomarkers are molecules that indicate a physiological change at the cellular level, including the progression or regression of disease.
