Chris Stevenson
Chris Stevenson leads Marketing and Communications at MaRS including strategy, execution and measurement for both traditional and digital media.
Chris brings nearly fifteen years of marketing, communications and advertising strategy experience with clients and employers that have included CIBC/CIBC Wood Gundy, General Motors, Franklin Templeton Investments, Wendy’s and Ben Sherman Clothing among many others.
Chris was the co-founder of www.soundproofmagazine.com, an online music magazine that had over 100 contributors in 10 countries around the world. SP also acted as a content developer for the likes of Sun Media (in three Canadian cities) and Aux TV (Glassbox).
Chris sits on the steering committee for the Canadian Music Hall of Fame (CARAS) as a technology and communications advisor and has been invited to sit on various panels about music and technology, among other things. Chris has also been a writer, singer and guitar player in punk bands, a DJ and an actor at various periods over time.
Chris studied Theatre Arts at Mount Royal University in Calgary; has an Associates Degree from the American Academy of Dramatic Art in New York City; completed the Recording Industry Orientation Program at the Harris Institute for The Arts and studied Marketing at Ryerson University, both in Toronto.
