cibc presents entrepreneurship 101

Decisions that founders make about their business model — should I make the product and sell it myself? Make it but use distributors? License someone else to make and sell it? — can have a profound effect on the success of the business. Last week, Professor Ajay Agrawal provided a rare confidential insight into a key business model decision made by the founders of what is arguably the greatest commercial success story of our generation (sorry – you’ll have to watch the lecture below to hear the name).

How do you make these decisions when the product is still under development? I’m interested in any comments out there as to good or bad decisions that entrepreneurs have made that we can all learn from.
