CSPC - The 2010 Canadian Science Policy Conference!

Oct 22, 2010
Montreal, Quebec
The Canadian Science Policy Conference (CSPC) is designed to fill a critical gap in the Canadian science policy environment: the absence of a permanent national forum to discuss science policy. It now serves as Canada’s most comprehensive, multi-sector, multi-disciplinary event devoted to science policy: a “must attend” annual conference for Canada’s entire science policy community. Entering its second year, the event is expected to bring together more than 500 high-profile scientists, executives, government officials and academics for an exchange of ideas in Montreal, Quebec.
CSPC has two main objectives:
- To identify and discuss current Canadian science policy.
- To forge stronger links between stakeholders and policymakers.
The Canadian Science Policy Conference was initiated by young researchers and has subsequently received a groundswell of support from prominent members of the science community. CSPC 2009 keynote speakers included Dr. Bruce Alberts, Chief Editor, Science magazine and The Honourable Gary Goodyear, Canadian Federal Minister of State for Science and Technology.
