About the speaker
Kerri’s 25+-year career has been spent working as an executive, entrepreneur and investor. She earned her CA while with KPMG and an HBA from Ivey at UWO. Over her career, she’s helped raise over $1 billion in equity and debt and actively negotiated a number of merger and acquisition transactions. Until early 2008, Kerri was a partner at Primaxis, an early-stage venture fund with investments in the communications, IT, semiconductor and electronics fields.
Kerri was a pioneer in the wireless communications business, holding finance positions with Rogers Wireless at launch in 1985 and serving in a number of roles with Bell Mobility, including CEO, Bell Mobility Paging and VP, Finance for Bell Mobility. She also served as CFO for public companies: Alliance Atlantis Communications and Lorus Therapeutics, and on the boards of several private companies. Kerri is currently a consultant to start-ups and venture funds and works with the MaRS Social Entrepreneurship and MaRS Advisory Services teams on projects aimed at improving access to capital for entrepreneurs.
