Raphael Ronen is a Commercialization Manager with The Innovations Group (TIG) at the University of Toronto.  TIG works with scientists to create commercial viability in research technologies.  Within this role, Raphael is involved in assessing new technologies, patenting, developing and building plans for the most promising technologies, and then licensing or creating start-up companies. 

Raphael joined TIG after successfully managing commercialization and business development activities involving imaging and medical device technologies out of the Robarts Research Institute.  Within his various roles, Raphael has engaged in numerous licenses with small and large companies, attraction of venture and private capital, and the creation of several spin-off companies.  Raphael combines his business background with an Engineering degree out of the University of Waterloo, and a M.Sc. in Medical Biophysics out of the University of Western Ontario.  Additional academic and industry experiences in fields such as IT, medical devices and medical imaging round out his knowledge base.
