Pioneer by name, pioneer by nature. Murray Hogarth is a leader in the petroleum industry. The founder and former CEO of Pioneer Petroleums grew his business from one retail gasoline station in Hamilton in 1956 to a chain of about 150 stations in Ontario.

Come hear Mr. Hogarth’s entrepreneurial story and what he has learned during his successful, innovative career.

This is part of a series of “Lived It” lectures in the program, sessions that offer a great opportunity to hear first-hand and ask questions about the experience of starting up an innovative company – from people who have seen it and done it.

Murray Hogarth
Founder, President and CEO of The Pioneer Group Inc.

Murray Hogarth is the Founder, President and CEO of The Pioneer Group Inc., and a principal investor and partner in many small- to medium-sized businesses in Canada and the US. He is also the Executive Chairman of Pioneer Petroleums, Canada’s largest privately-owned operator of independent retail gasoline stations, convenience stores and car washes. Pioneer Petroleums also operates chains of fast-food restaurants and invests in residential and commercial real estate. Since its founding in 1956, Pioneer Petroleums has had sales over $1.8 billion.
