Guest speaker: Tony Olvet, Group Vice President, Research – IDC Canada Research
Tony Olvet is Group Vice President of the research domains team at IDC Canada. He is responsible for managing the services and research direction of the technology and market segment analysts in Canada. Mr. Olvet is also a member of IDC Canada’s Senior Leadership Team. Mr. Olvet earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Waterloo and a master’s degree from the University of Toronto, specializing in economic geography.

Guest speaker: Marcus Torchia, Research Manager, Intelligent Grid Strategies – IDC Energy Insights
As a research manager focused on intelligent grid strategies, Marcus Torchia applies 13 years of technology industry experience by helping utility end-users, technology vendors and service providers optimize technology and business planning decisions for intelligent grid initiatives. He brings to his role experience in industry research and analysis, device and software product development, billing plan structures, market entry programs and strategic partnerships. Mr. Torchia earned a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA from Babson College.
