IPT Smarter Alloys
Innovative Processing Technologies (IPT) provides solutions to implement smart materials in industrial applications. More specifically, IPT specializes in applying the Multiple-Memory Material (MMM) technology to enable greater functionality of traditional smart materials. This proprietary advance processing method can be applied to virtually any shape memory alloy (SMA) to locally modifying their properties. SMAs are materials that are capable of exhibiting a shape memory and are widely used in medical, aerospace, automotive, micro electro-mechanical systems (MEMS), and microelectronics industries. Traditionally SMAs have been limited to only ‘remembering’ a single shape, whereas the MMM technology enables multiple memories to be embedded in a monolithic component. IPT’s MMM technology also enhances other functional properties of SMA’s, such as pseudoelasticity and corrosion performance.
