Peter Becke

OCRI, OttawaPeter Becke served as Vice President of Nortel Networks for close to ten years, where he held executive positions in the systems business, at corporate and in the semiconductor and optical components of business. Previously, Peter was CEO and President of Metconnex, a tech start-up company that designed and built wavelength selective switches for metro networks. He was also CEO and President of SiberCore Technologies, a fabless semiconductor company that provided packet management solutions to the internet infrastructure market and was recognized by the industry for technical innovation and business accomplishment. As well as being a Purple Angel (a group of mainly ex-Nortel executive investors), Peter was the founder and CEO of Venturing Hills Corporation, providing strategic advice and consulting services to management and boards of companies and organizations. Peter is an advisor to Talkswitch, TOP, the Ottawa Innovation Hub, and is a governor of Ashbury College. He has been involved in many corporate, community, and university boards (Queen’s MBAst, U of O Executive MBA). Peter holds a degree in Law as well as an MBA from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
