Heather Nicol
Chief Financial Officer
Heather oversees the finance and administration functions at MaRS, including financial planning and reporting, as well as corporate administration.Prior to joining MaRS, Heather Nicol was EVP and CFO of an investment company specializing in pharmaceutical royalties, where she helped raise a co-investor fund. Before that, she was the CFO of Chapters Online, taking it public and growing the business. Heather has worked for major Canadian and international investment banks gaining experience in debt and equity financing, as well as structured finance. She has also worked as a senior advisor to Canadian Tire Corporation and restructured the financing of their stores. Heather serves on a not-for-profit board and is Vice-Chair of the board and chairs the audit committee of Desjardins Credit Union. Heather is a CMA and holds an MBA from the University of Western Ontario in London and a BMath degree from the University of Waterloo in Ontario.
