Ron Smith

Innovation Synergy Centre Markham (ISCM), MarkhamRon Smith has led several public companies in the technology industry, as CEO or Chairman of the Board, to successful turnarounds. With 18 years of leadership experience, Ron’s specialty was driving increased revenue, profit, and shareholder return at Vicinity Corporation, Beyond.com, Merisel North America, NCR, Amdahl and Honeywell. From 1999 to 2003, Ron commuted to California, restructuring, and buying and selling technology companies. Ron’s own company, RSS Associates Ltd., is currently providing mentoring, restructuring, refinancing and merger and acquisition services to a select number of small and medium enterprises in Ontario. Through RSS, Ron assisted GeoTango, a local company spawned from York University and developers of award-winning software for 3D mapping and visualization, in the sale of their business to Microsoft. For the past five years, Ron has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Innovation Synergy Centre in Markham. Ron holds a B. Eng from Technical University of Nova Scotia and a B. Sc. From Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
