Clean Water for Life: Ontario’s water asset map
Highlights of Ontario’s clean water technology innovations at home and around the world
Ontario (meaning “beautiful water”) borders four of the five Great Lakes and is home to numerous lakes (more than 250,000), rivers and streams and rich groundwater resources, providing an abundance of primary sources of water.
The close proximity to such unparalleled freshwater resources and the will to protect them has nurtured a strong research and development (R&D) culture in Ontario. This has led to the development and commercialization of many of our own clean water technologies throughout the world. Correspondingly, a collaborative approach among government, policymakers, utilities, industry and consumers is progressively bringing those cutting-edge innovations to our own backyard.
