Profound Medical: A new non-invasive treatment for prostate cancer
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian men: every year, more than 25,000 men are diagnosed with the disease. And while current treatments are mostly effective, they can leave patients with nasty lasting effects, like urinary incontinence or impotence. Profound Medical is commercializing a new non-invasive prostate cancer treatment that could reduce the side effects associated with treatment—and reduce the time it takes to treat the cancer. Paul Chipperton, Profound’s CEO, shares the company’s story so far and its plans for the future.
