Michele Giddens is a founding Director of Bridges Ventures, a UK venture capital company with a social mission. Prior to starting Bridges Ventures, Michele had 10 years of international development and community finance experience, ranging from large equity and debt instruments to micro-finance and small business lending. Michele was with International Finance Corporation, the private sector finance arm of the World Bank for two years, working on large debt and equity investments in Poland then spent seven years with the international advisory arm of Shorebank Corporation, the oldest and largest community development bank in the USA. She is a Trustee of the Young Foundation, which focuses on social innovation and was Chair of the UK Community Development Finance Association (cdfa) 2003-2005. Michele has a BA from Oxford and an MBA from Georgetown University, Washington, DC.
