The Centre for Social Innovation presents "A Social Enterprise Think-In"

Time:
Monday, December 3 at 2:00pm

Location:
Centre for Social Innovation
215 Spadina Avenue
Suite 120

The Centre for Social Innovation is hosting an intimate session on the role of Social Enterprise within the larger framework of social entrepreneurship. It will be a whirlwind virtual tour of Toronto’s social enterprises and an open-sourced session on new thinking for fostering social enterprise in our great city.

Part 1 – Download: This involves a Speed Geek (like speed dating without the awkward silences!) to explore Toronto’s social enterprise landscape. How are local nonprofits adopting market-based strategies to support their missions? How are Toronto’s for-profits adopting triple-bottom-line strategies to meet community needs? In one short hour you’ll experience ten innovative models that blend sectors and show that a new way forward is possible.

Part 2 – Upload: Following the Speed Geek is a Speed Brainstorm to answer the question: How can we create an enabling environment to foster social enterprise in Toronto? Ten separate stations will allow us to think (rapidly!) about the complex ecosystem that we need to create to make social enterprises develop and thrive. Bring your bright mind and get ready to think fast to help us develop some thinking about what’s needed and how we can get there.
