In her role as Head of Talent & Shared Services, Becki works with MaRS’ senior leaders and their teams to drive forward and enable MaRS’ strategy. She is responsible for all of MaRS shared services including People & Culture, Legal, IT, and Marketing & Communications, in addition to serving as a coach to the CEO and senior leadership team as we continue to navigate through organization change and transformation.
Becki is an experienced Finance and HR executive who has served in senior leadership roles within the Consumer Packaged Goods and Retail sectors. Her responsibilities have included International and regional roles, while located in Canada, the United States, and Europe. Currently, she serves as the head of Talent & Shared Services for the MaRS Discovery District – where she has responsibility for the People & Culture, Marketing, IT and Legal functions.
Previously, she held positions as the head of HR for The Hershey Company’s operations in Canada, and the divisional CFO of Hershey’s snacking division based out of Austin, Texas. Becki is passionate about building and coaching high-performing teams to meet the strategies and needs of the organization, while developing the skills and talents of individual team members. She has a demonstrated track record of successfully navigating complex global, matrixed organizations and achieving results by influencing and collaborating with key stakeholders. She is strategically focused with a demonstrated ability to drive outstanding results through operational discipline, clear prioritization, employee engagement, and a continuous improvement mindset. Becki’s areas of expertise include talent management, strategic planning, organizational & process transformation, and financial forecasting.
Becki is a graduate of the University of Guelph (BSc Engineering) and the University of Windsor (MBA). She currently serves on the Board of Governors for the University of Guelph. She has also acted as a Global Advisor for Fora: Network for Change, a non-profit organization focused on cultivating a new generation of female leaders through entrepreneurship, education, and global experiences.
