Off2Class is a software toolkit for English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers and schools. We provide content to teach lessons paired with a student management system in a SaaS format to teachers working online, in person and in classrooms, across 85 countries. Our clients include private tutors, K12 schools, higher education institutions, private language institutes and NGOs.

Off2Class is adding an intern to our content team. The intern will be exposed to all aspects of producing interactive learning content that is used in a live ESL teaching environment. This will include planning, development, production and garnering feedback directly from educators working with the content. The intern will also have the opportunity to design operational tools that will facilitate the scaling of the content production cycle within Off2Class and conduct UX workshops with educational users.

You will be working directly with a co-founder of the company. Expect to be mentored directly by our Head of Content and our Instructional Designer to learn all aspects of the digital education content production process. You will be heavily involved in helping to set up our new assessment module as well as testing our new online curriculum module features.

Role Description:

You will be responsible for developing new, interactive, digital ESL lesson content for the Off2Class content library. You will plan the development of lesson content, write lesson content, develop visual representations of the content and gather feedback directly from educational users of the content for future consideration. You will be involved in our inaugural assessment module that will require extensive testing and gathering of feedback from end-users to improve the product offering.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters Degree

Area of Study:

Instructional Design, Educational Design, TESOL, TEFL or Masters of Education

We are looking for attitude and drive over experience. Your experience does not need to include formal work postings. We are happy to accept personal projects and creative works, as representations of your skills and abilities.

Technical Skills:

Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Working skills in visual design programs such as Invision a plus

The candidate must possess the speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills equivalent to a native speaker of Standard North American English (but of course, the candidate need not be a native speaker of the language)

Soft Skills:

We are looking for someone with a willingness to learn and a passion for teaching the English language. While we value attitude over experience, the successful candidate will be meticulous and thorough, without being a perfectionist. Above all, as a small company, we are looking for someone with a willingness to learn and carry out every aspect of lesson content production, with a desire to eventually ‘scale’ to become a permanent role within the Content Team.
