At Healthy Pets, we are reinventing the way pet parents access and receive veterinary care. We seek to simplify pet parenthood through virtual veterinary consultations, although there’s much more than that to come.

Healthy Pets is an online marketplace connecting local veterinarians with pet parents on demand through video chat. For a fraction of the cost of traditional, in-clinic service, pet parents can now source reliable pet health and wellness information and care from the comfort of home. Veterinarians are able to better serve current clientele, reach new clientele, and work wherever and whenever they please through our digital platform.

We are a small team of mighty business people, passionate about improving the lives of pets and their owners. We are backed by leading investors in the Toronto area. We were also named Canada’s Most Promising Startup of the Year (2017) by TELUS and winner of PayPal Canada’s inaugural Small Business Contest (2017).

Role Description:

Healthy Pets currently offers its telemedicine service through an iOS, Android and web application. Although these products are functional, we now need to build product suite 2.0 from the ground up, deigned to grow and evolve alongside the company.

The Product Engineer [Co-Op] role will provide a talented senior student with the opportunity to own iOS and App development from the ground zero. Reporting the VP Engineering and working alongside a Product Manager, the Engineer will be responsible for developing the next evolution of our iOS and Android app.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working within a small team and be responsible for achieving success without day-to-day direct oversight. He/she will desire to take ownership of their work; there’s no room for cutting corners when your contribution will directly affect company success.

The successful candidate must currently be enrolled in an applicable post-secondary program in order to facilitate a co-op placement.

The Product Engineer will work closely alongside our VP Engineering and Product Manager to support iOS and App development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant post-secondary program
  • Previous product management experience
  • Undergraduate engineering student

  • Previous iOS and Android app development is required
