Joe Greenwood is the program director of MaRS Data Catalyst and Executive Lead, Data at MaRS. He works with stakeholders to identify opportunities to reuse data from different sources to support effective innovation programs and to enable the growth of commercial and social enterprises in target innovation and market sectors in Ontario. Malavika Kumaran works on data integration, data visualization, and collaborative research projects at Data Catalyst. She leads the team’s research on women and entrepreneurship. Malavika has a BSc in Economics and Statistics from University of Toronto. More about Malavika | Email Malavika

As MaRS Data Catalyst’s data ninja, Joseph Lalonde corrals raw data, rolls it up and then karate chops it into tasty bite-sized pieces that he places gently into a virtual bento box. When insights are needed, he coaxes the data out and arranges it into a lovely, dancing visualization. Joseph is also an amateur Tintinologist and francophile. More about Joseph | Email Joseph

Shahab Shahnazari leads MaRS Data Catalyst’s work in the health space, working with a multi-disciplinary team to create an innovation platform that will give consumers control over their health data and allow them to share it with products and services that can support them in meeting their health and wellness goals. Sasha Sud is leading the energy projects at MaRS Data Catalyst. Currently, he’s working on bringing the right people together to implement Ontario’s Green Button and give Ontarians better and greater access to energy data. More about Sasha | Email Sasha

David Sky comes to MaRS after working as part of a large development team creating database and data replication software. As a data analyst, he uses this background daily to organize and grow the MaRS Data Catalyst innovation economy database, and works with the team to analyze that data and turn it into useful insights. Karen Deng works on health projects at MaRS Data Catalyst. She applies her experience in health policy, evaluation and funding arrangement strategy to understand opportunities and challenges in health data management and to create change within health systems. Karen is interested in understanding how systems thinking and multi-sectoral partnerships can be applied to impact the health space. Email Karen

Farooq QaiserFarooq Qaiser is the Data Analyst at MaRS Data Catalyst. Farooq uses his skills in data science to extract key insights. Melissa DodaroMelissa Dodaro is responsible for partner and product management on the Data Catalyst team, working with ecosystem partners to create insightful and valuable data outputs. Melissa holds a MBA from Ryerson University’s Ted Rogers School of Management and a BA in Psychology from the University of Ottawa. Email Melissa

Timothy LukTimothy Luk is a Project Manager on the MaRS Data Catalyst team, who works on health data initiatives. He manages projects that enable access to consumers’ health information, allow new digital health solutions to come to market and redefine how novel data sources can support public health monitoring and interventions.
