Scientific Collaborative

The Scientific Collaborative (SC) aims to provide scientific and methodological input into the EXCITE process. Where applicable, the Scientific Collaborative members:

  • Provide advice to the EXCITE Secretariat regarding methodological issues and processes for evaluation related to technologies, as required
  • Provide consistency in approach to technology evaluation to the extent possible through the joint development of common templates coordinated by the EXCITE Secretariat. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Protocol development with special reference to incorporation of multiple stakeholder inputs, trial design that meets requirements of regulators and funders/health system and outcomes that are endorsed by experts, patients, and health systems that may include consensus-driven value-based outcomes
    • Data collection and analysis
    • Development of final reports
    • Publication policies
    • Agreements with industry
