Max Hickey

Max is passionate about cleantech, entrepreneurship and protecting the environment. He works with energy utilities in Canada and abroad to support the adoption of clean technology and enable corporates to build internal innovation capacity. Max started his career working in research and development of air source heat pumps in Ireland, and also has experience as an entrepreneur, founding a startup called Evocco that empowers consumers to purchase sustainable food products. Max moved to Canada in 2017 and joined MaRS as a cleantech market research analyst, supporting the growth of Canadian startups to global markets in areas such as energy storage and electric vehicles.
Max holds a a joint bachelors and masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Trinity College Dublin, specializing in renewable energy and thermal engineering, and also spent a year abroad studying at the University of Toronto.
