Did you know that when these types of pathogens are spread and exposed to those with weakened immune systems the consequences could be fatal? That hospital-acquired infections are causing hundreds of thousands of patients to extend their stay in hospitals, and adding millions of dollars in financial burden on our healthcare system each year? Our mission is simple: eliminate pathogens on mobile devices through the use of effective and easy-to-use UV products. We do this by designing technologies that people will actually use, backed by science reflective of real-world conditions. We harness the power of UV light to kill the most dangerous pathogens without damaging expensive touch screens. Our flagship product, the CleanSlate, is used in healthcare to sanitize mobile devices – whether that is phones, tablets, pagers, watches, badges, etc. Ultimately, our goal is to prevent the spread of infections and improve patient outcomes. Our founders started CleanSlate UV in 2014 out of Queen’s University. Fast forward three years later, and we have successfully commercialized what began as a far-fetched idea. Our product has launched in hospitals in Canada, across the US, and even in Australia and New Zealand. Our team of nine is spread evenly over engineering and business backgrounds, and brings years of expertise related to biomedical engineering, user interface design, medical device sales, operational finance, and more.
Product Team:This position will support the company’s product team with coding, web development, and related activities. Every team member at CleanSlate UV has one thing in common: a relentless drive to refine, improve and learn. We work at a fast pace and are flexible to the start-up company’s changing demands. Our team is small and works as a collaborative unit. We encourage transparent communication, from the top down. You will be exposed to scenarios you would rarely experience within a large corporation (especially at this stage in your career). You will have an opportunity to work on tasks in a multitude of positions within different departments. Project Description:We are looking for an experienced software or computer engineering-based candidate who can help us integrate smart technology based on IoT into our current product. The new solution is aimed at enabling compliance tracking in healthcare. This will allow facilities to audit when their devices are being sanitized and will encourage staff to sanitize their items more frequently, thereby reducing the chance of infection… And we need your help!
Role Description:Currently we have a proof of concept prototype integrated with our RFID technology. You will be leading this project through its development phase, beta launch into hospitals for pilot study and possibly a commercial launch. The project involves developing an online dashboard where the user can login to track compliance rates, as well as a mobile app for providing real-time feedback and reminders if needed. This will add value to our customers by allowing them to see in exactly when their mobile devices are being sanitized and will help drive positive sanitization compliance rates. The main responsibilities of the job will include:
- Creation of database using MySQL
- Back-end coding using PHP to post data into dashboard
- Design and development mobile app for customer application on iOS and Android systems
- Propose concepts for UI and UX for the dashboard
- Take part in pilot studies at hospitals to gather user feedback
- Develop intranet for internal documents management system
Minimum Qualifications:The candidate must currently be studying at the undergraduate level in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
