While Canada experienced a slower-than-normal job market leading up to summer, there are still plenty of opportunities in the Canadian tech sector. With openings at companies specializing in smart lighting systems, genetic disorder treatment development and programs designed to crack down on financial losses, there are positions for every interest and skillset. Here are 12 companies hiring this month.
What it does: CoLab is a St. John’s-based company that’s created a cloud-based software to help engineers collaborate with one another. Rather than using emails, slideshows and other programs to get critical designed discussions going, CoLab allows teams to collaborate and see all insights from everyone.
In the news: The company recently secured $5.6 million in funding.
Current openings: Solutions Engineer, Strategic Technical Program Manager, Multimedia Producer and Business Development Representative.
What it does: e-Zinc is a Toronto-based company that’s built a low-cost, long-duration energy storage solution using zinc.
In the news: In 2024, e-Zinc opened a new manufacturing facility in Mississauga. The company was also named as part of the Global Cleantech 100 in 2022 and 2023.
Current openings: Director, Procurement and Purchasing, Battery Test Engineer.
What it does: Nanoleaf is a Toronto-based smart home company that helps customers make their home lighting less carbon intensive. Using AI-based software, users can “integrate with other systems like Google, Amazon Alexa and Apple,” explains Marta Max, the company’s chief of staff.
What you get: Max says that the company allows employees to work with both software and hardware, which she says is “a unique aspect of working at tech companies these days.” The company also has a number of activities for the team, learning opportunities, a health spending account, flexible time-off and wellness hours.
Current openings: Graphics designer.
What it does: Deep Genomics uses AI and machine learning to speed up the development of therapies for rare genetic disorders.

What it does: SeamlessMD is a digital patient education tool that shows patients, step-by-step, how to prepare for surgery and sends reminders for a patient’s recovery needs, ranging from medication to light exercise and more.
Fun fact: SeamlessMD is used in more than 25 Ontario hospitals to help patients on their recovery journey for everything from chronic diseases to surgery to maternity care.
Current openings: Patient Education Specialist.
What it does: Loop is a financial platform that allows businesses to manage money on a global scale, which helps companies accelerate growth, enter new markets and simplify operations.

In the news: The company recently launched its GPU-Powered Insights Factory, which will help deliver financial intelligence eight times faster.

What it does: Spoonity offers loyalty, gift card and marketing services for mid-sized restaurant chains with upwards of 500 locations.
In the news: “We’ve been on a tear,” explains CEO and co-founder Max Bailey.“The company has been growing at about 50 percent year-over-year and we’ve signed with some major brands in Canada and abroad.”

What it does: Based in Waterloo, Axonify makes corporate onboarding and employee training easier. The company develops resources such as short videos and quizzes that reinforce teachings and makes learning fun.
