Mary Palmer is a Volunteer Advisor with MaRS Health Venture Services. Mary’s passion for international knowledge was reinforced early in her career where, upon graduating from the University of Western Ontario, she started as an analyst in a corporate pension fund. Mary’s career transcends the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. She has experience bridging government programs and services with commercial outcomes to effect export growth for companies of all sizes.
Through sharing her insights and experience, Mary mobilizes business opportunities for MaRS Health venture clients. As a Volunteer Advisor, Mary provides valuable insights, introductions and advice for MaRS Health ventures, which has resulted in strategic convergences of technologies.
Mary is a palliative care volunteer at Dorothy Ley Hospice and has served on the board of The Family Council at CAMH. As a professional sailor, she leveraged her culinary training as crew and sailed from Florida, throughout the Bahamas and the Caribbean, to New England, and ultimately during The America’s Cup in Australia. She is past-president of the (former) Women’s Sailors Association in Toronto. Among other activities, Mary continues to enjoy sailing.
