Michael Anstey

Michael Anstey brings expertise in the healthcare and life sciences sectors through his experience in strategy consulting, venture capital investing, and research and academia.
Mike is currently a Principal in the Toronto office of The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He is a core member of the healthcare practice and works closely with multinational biopharma and medtech companies to identify their highest-value opportunities, address their most critical challenges and transform their enterprises.
Prior to joining BCG, Mike was an investment analyst and Kauffman Fellow at Oxford Capital Partners, a UK-based venture capital firm that specializes in investing in early-stage science and technology businesses. Mike was responsible for identifying, executing and monitoring investments in the healthcare and life sciences sectors. Before Oxford Capital, Mike was a researcher in the field of neuroscience at the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge, and Sydney. He has authored papers published in a number of leading academic journals including Current Biology and Science.
Mike graduated with a 1st Class Honors degree in biology from Queen’s University in Canada, and earned his PhD in zoology from Oxford University where he was the Hope Scholar.
