Toronto, December 6, 2011 – A $1 million joint investment between Canada Health Infoway and Trillium Health Centre will benefit patient care for seniors by making available a new library of evidence-based checklists produced by MaRS client Together, Trillium and will provide the library to benefit those living in more than 500 long-term care and complex continuing care beds in the Mississauga-Halton region.

The detailed, evidence-based “order-set” checklists enable health care professionals to quickly and easily identify and select the most effective treatments for their patients. This instant access to evidence-based best practices improves patient outcomes by improving the process of ordering appropriate treatments and tests. Health care providers in long-term care homes will be able to access the order sets using web-based order set software from called EntryPoint.
