A great night and a brighter future
It was an exciting evening on planet MaRS! Last night, in a rousing ceremony, MaRS announced that it has received a generous gift of $10 million from the Evans family, honouring the remarkable contributions of Dr. John Evans, Chair Emeritus of MaRS and one of its founders.
The gift will fund the new MaRS Solutions Lab, an “action tank” that will help young Canadian leaders develop inspired recipes to go out and change the world.
With roughly 300 people in attendance, the room was charged with optimism as one speaker after another lauded the news and spoke of the bright future ahead.
