What is the MaRS Fall Intensive Program?
The Fall Intensive Program is a hands-on, 15-week program designed for early-stage entrepreneurs who are committed to exploring the potential of the business ideas they are working on. The first workshop is on September 9, 2015, once weekly until December 16, 2015.
Facilitated by experienced entrepreneurs, the program tackles both the tangibles and the intangibles of building a business. What are the tangibles and intangibles of a successful startup?
Tangibles:
- A great idea and evidence that people want it
- An understanding of the partners you’ll need
- Some money to get you started
- Great leadership skills
- A collaborative team
- A plan for selling
- An engaging narrative to talk about your product
Intangibles:
- An industry ready for disruption
- Interaction with like-minded entrepreneurs
- Freedom for your ideas to percolate
- The ability to try, fail fast and identify a new direction
- The confidence to act differently
- Feedback from peers
The Program can help you develop your business and consider all these elements in one place. It’s split into six broad themes that focus on key areas of startup development, from customer development and business modelling to financial models and pitching to investors.
What are we looking for?
