In the global ranking of startup ecosystems undertaken by Compass (formerly Startup Genome) in 2012, Toronto placed eighth out of the top 20 startup communities around the world.
Part of their larger Startup Ecosystem Report, the ranking was based on eight factors (as shown below), ranging from the availability of capital and company performance to the ambitiousness of the founders and the support infrastructure of the ecosystem.
Compass, in partnership with CrunchBase, is now in the process of gathering data for their latest ranking, and they need your help. They’re calling on the entire entrepreneurial community to complete their 10-minute online Startup Ecosystem Report 2015 Survey.
To give you an idea of the scope of the project, in 2012 they gathered data from more than 50,000 startups around the world and conducted more than 50 in-depth, qualitative interviews with entrepreneurs and investors. This time around, they’re expanding it further to include even more communities and dive deeper into some specific areas, with the help of both government and private enterprise partners.
Their ultimate goal is to create a comprehensive report that gives entrepreneurs worldwide a bigger voice, enabling them to push policy-makers to improve their local startup ecosystems and offer greater support to young companies. It also offers a glimpse at the overall health of your local startup community.
All that for only 10 minutes of your time. Complete the survey today!
