Healthy.io is turning smartphones into at-home medical devices. With offices in London, U.K., Boston and Tel Aviv, the company ships do-it-yourself urine tests to patients’ homes. Users can scan a QR code to relay results directly to physicians, speeding up diagnosis and treatment for everything from routine checkups and UTI tests to more serious issues, such as kidney disease. The company can also deploy smartphone cameras to perform wound assessment for people of all skin tones and under any type of lighting.
