MaRS Climate Impact: Canada’s premier climate venture summit returns on Dec 3 & 4

Showcasing innovations in cleantech and adaptation with industry leading speakers, including Jana Mosley, president and CEO Toronto Hydro, and John Vaillant, author of Fire Weather

TORONTO, Oct 24, 2024 — Today, MaRS announced the program and partners for its annual climate innovation event, MaRS Climate Impact. The two-day summit returns on Dec 3 and 4, featuring some of the world’s top leaders in climate and more than 500 attendees — industry experts, investors and innovators working across the climate spectrum. With more than 20 mainstage sessions, programming will delve into major climate challenges, such as the lack of investment in adaptation; emerging tech, including new materials for decarbonization; and rapidly growing areas, such as EV charging innovation and wildfire tech.

Climate Impact is made possible by title sponsor Royal Bank of Canada and more than 18 partners, including Alberta Innovates, Amazon Web Services, the B.C. MaRS Climate Impact has three program tracks, each featuring renowned leaders discussing the latest innovations in climate tech, these include:

  • Forecasting where and how VCs and early-stage investors will commit dollars in 2025.

Innovation

  • Showcasing climate tech ventures raising seed and series A+ rounds.
  • Learning how Canadian cleantech solutions are being deployed across the country.
  • Diving into emerging innovations in agriculture, waste heat, wildfire sensing, and more.

Adaptation

  • Spotlighting the impacts of extreme heat and flooding on cities and the solutions that can help.
